The Uriall-Madiess institution was established in the year 1048 by the illustrious Kal-Oni Empire. Situated within a hilly region that has since evolved into a picturesque canyon, the facility was purposefully constructed to facilitate research and study in the realms of magic, the sciences, and other erudite pursuits, shielded from external scrutiny. Additionally, it functioned as a secure containment center for exceptionally perilous captives.
In 1105, the League of Magicks apprehended the false emperor of the Kal-Oni Empire. This was the lich Caliguworm, who had been ruling as Emperor Onkuri Kal-Oni for the past 15 years. Caliguworm was transported to Uriall-Madiess and confined alongside dozens of other high-profile villains, each in a Hibernation Bay. It is even said that the goddess Athena, dispatched her lover, the Solar Ephenon, to ensure the League had the necessary means to carry out this task.
On 6 Brighstar 1200, the prominent city of Uriall-Madiess was tragically lost. This catastrophic event unfolded when the League of Magicks endeavored to establish a permanent conduit to the mystical Web of Magic. Regrettably, the resulting rift proved unstable, rending the surrounding landscape and drawing the entirety of the city into the Web of Magic. In the place where Uriall-Madiess once stood, the newly created rift known as Othrangad now exists.
When the infamous prison of Uriall-Madiess and its inmates were lost to the Web, their fate remains uncertain. Whether any of them managed to survive remains unknown.
