The League of Magicks was founded by a group of Khazarkar mages out of Chal-Kazod. When the populace of Gulimbor was driven out by the Gulimbor Cataclysm (996 - 1203), the guild relocated its operations to Hells Womb. The reason they chose this new location instead of joining the Khazarkar migration was their animosity towards the Eldritch Conclave. The League of Magicks then established its headquarters at the Kal-Oni city of Uriall-Madiess.
The guild was renowned for practicing the same arcane arts that precipitated the Gulimor Cataclysm, delving into the perilous discipline of web weaving.
In the year 845, they established the Portal Sentinels. This specialized division of the League of Magicks was charged with locating disturbances in the Web of Magic, such as Rifts and feywild fuses.
In the year 1105, their magical investigations revealed that the emperor of Kal-Oni was not who he appeared to be. Utilizing potent sorcery to conceal his true identity, the lich Caliguworm had assassinated the rightful emperor and assumed the throne. The wizards of the League of Magicks apprehended Caliguworm and sentenced him to an eternity of confinement within a Hibernation Bay. It is rumored that the goddess Athena dispatched her paramour, the Solar Ephenon, to ensure the League of Magicks' capability to carry out this task.
Even after the lessons learned from the Gulimbor Cataclysm, the practice of volatile magic continued within the guild. On 6 Brightstar 1200, the League of Magicks triggered a catastrophic rupture in the Web of Magic. The tear ripped away vast tracts of land, leaving a deep chasm in its wake. Uriall-Madiess, the League's headquarters, plummeted into the canyon that would become known as Othrangad. Nearly all the guild members and the entire population of the city were lost. Following this calamity, the Kal-Oni government dissolved the guild.
