In 1209 HE, the Trielasog, a Mir'piamauza exploratory vessel, entered the Sea Tunnel. Traversing this interdimensional channel, they journeyed hundreds of miles northwest to a towering column of water spiraling upwards. After several experiments, the Trielasog ascended the column, drawn aloft by the River Tongue. Moments later, they found themselves floating upon the surface of a lake the dragons had christened Lokzii Ahraan. On the southern shores of this remarkable body of water, the crew planted the empire's flag of Nine Rings, thereby founding the settlement of Varrogrith.
Varrogrith served as the operational center for a pact between the dragon Tauth'ghourn and the Mir'piamauza Empire (526 HE - 1612 HE). In exchange for certain land and security guarantees, the Mir'piamauza pledged to help thwart the eastern expansionist efforts of the Zeymah'kein and their Bahamut zealots.
For four centuries, the venerable city of Varrogrith has endured numerous sackings and recaptures during The Burns. Its trading partners and occasional allies included Viing Prolgiid, a nest of Tiamat cultists, as well as the Kobold municipality of Vaknor Gevild.
When Mir'piamauza fractured, Varrogrith emerged as a city-state. Nine years later, in 1621 HE, Varrogrith was conquered by the Ashmerthoon Empire. The populace was enslaved, and the once-thriving city was abandoned to decay.
