Viing Prolgiid was founded by cultists devoted to Tiamat. Exiles of the Zeymah'kein Empire, hunted by the crusaders of the Platinum Inquisition (1279 HE - 1290 HE), they retreated deep into the icy tracts of Sotiisk'lum. The surrounding mountains provided the settlement with an abundance of Demiurgic Iron, gold, and gemstones, which were traded for grains and other foodstuffs from Vaknor Gevild and Varrogrith.

When the Theocracy of Galirkrad was established in 1301 HE, Viing Prolgiid was designated as its central metropolis.

In the year 1725 of the Horgon Era, the city was sacked by the formidable Ashmerthoon Empire. This event terminated the sovereignty of Galirkrad. Alongside it, a prominent Church of Tiamat was demolished, and its adherents were swiftly severed from their faith while toiling in the slave mines of Du'ul Hiim. This proved an extremely detrimental blow to Tiamat's divine power, one which she would one day seek to repay the Ashmerthoon a hundredfold in retribution.

At the core of Viing Prolgiid stands the Godstone, an ancient obelisk etched with runes that detail the creation of an almost undefeatable entity. The rise of this divinely-spawned monstrosity gave birth to the mountainous ring of Rah Burdah, forever marring both it and the valley contained within.

The wrought-iron lattices surrounding the hecatoncheires were demolished when the terror was awakened. A shower of iron blasted outward like a volcanic eruption. The iron smoked and developed a mottled green patina. Wherever it landed, it sank back into the earth.
