Gulimbor lies east of Azrik and Ma'Ohari. Late in the First Epoch, the terrain and civilizations of this region were devastated by arcane anomalies and the warmongering First Khazarkar Empire. Potent magics unleashed during that time by web weavers resulted in ruptures in the Web of Magic. Khazarkar armies' warlike pursuits laid waste to rivals and ultimately their own. The tears in the Web culminated in the Gulimbor Cataclysm (996 - 1203), crippling the land, ruining harvests, drying up rivers, and disrupting the natural weather patterns of the region. The result was a massive migration known as the Great Exodus (998 - 1017). The First Khazarkar Empire and the Rogue States fled the dying region, with some going to the islands of Necrocrypt and others to distant lands on Brucrumus. The Burterinii remained on the continent, moving to the northeastern coasts of Ma'Ohari.
One of the most devastated regions is the Broken Lands. The ground in this area is cracked and shattered due to scarce rainfall and centuries of environmental degradation. Where there were once lush forests and fertile farmlands, there are now barren dust bowls and deserts devoid of life. The landscape of Gulimbor is dotted with numerous ruins - skeletal remains of bygone civilizations, a stark testament to the warring ways of the First Khazarkar Empire and a sobering reminder of the devastation that can ensue when the Web of Magic is severely damaged.
After the retreat of civilization from the region, and the passage of many millennia, some areas have regained much of their former splendor. The Gulimbor Cataclysm gave rise to numerous spellwarped aberrations and other Gulimbor Tainted creatures, which still roam Gulimbor. Additionally, this land is home to a great number of Living Spells, dead-magic zones, and other unnatural entities.
The cavernous realm known as Urizigar lies beneath the expansive lands of Gulimbor.
