In the Demon Spawn War, Abbathor served as a mortal general under the then archangel Naraz-Nâru. He was one of Naraz-Nâru's most capable generals, and could have succeeded him after his ascension to godhood, were it not for Abbathor's growing avarice. As time passed, Abbathor became increasingly preoccupied with safeguarding his war caches, prioritizing this over offensive operations against the demons. His subsequent demotion in rank only amplified his greed and protectiveness, until he ultimately resigned from the Quara'tun Covenant. Over time, Abbathor shifted his tactics from direct assault to subterfuge and stealth, and came to favor dark, shadowy places over surface areas. These changes in his approach led him to take on domains favored by rogues and those of the Underdark. Devout worshippers of Abbathor acquire minor enhancements to their stealth and a 5% bonus to the distribution of loot, pay for work, and other aspects of wealth generation.
In the momentous war against the demonic forces, Abbathor commanded the renowned Mîmêk Army in their assault against numerous demon-occupied strongholds, the most extensively chronicled of which was the siege of the city of Tyelmantar.
Abbathor additionally presided over engineering initiatives, such as undermining. On 23 Warper 237 GE, after undermining the submerged canyon Ratanur Trap, his engineers installed a null mine that tore an opening in The Weave, spawning the counter rift Fihrgrell Drain.
Abbathor's native realm is the world of Mungoth, situated within the Gehenna system.
