Abremorta appears to be a lake from a distance, but a careful inspection of this serpentine body of liquid reveals that it is unlike any other natural water formation. Its mesmerizing azure hues are otherworldly, with deeper blue areas drifting beneath the surface like ethereal bubbles. Abremorta's water is slightly denser than normal and does not evaporate unless exposed to intense magical heat. It has a thriving biosphere like a typical lake, teeming with aquatic plants and lifeforms. The unusual nature of this "lake" stems from the fact that Abremorta is, in reality, a Primordial remnant from the Creation War. During that conflict, she was the largest Primordial minion to assail the world of Bal-Kriav. Cari'phis summoned Abremorta, a slithering watery dreadnought, to Gorejun to quench the fires of Felakgathar. Abremorta was tasked with breaking the volcanic wall created by Danzar-Khâl in an effort to stop the black ice of Perge'khas.
Abremorta was a simple creature, easily controlled by Cari'phis; requiring only the provision of fish and plants to maintain her contentment. Originating from an ocean world abundant in nourishment, Abremorta needed only to swim and absorb the nearby sustenance. On Bal-Kriav, she was transported through a rift to an area remote from any substantial water source. Consequently, her dietary needs had to be met through shipment, teleportation, or magical creation. During the conflicts between the Covenant and the primordials, Abremorta became disconnected from primordial forces. This resulted in her no longer receiving regular sustenance and, worse, becoming stranded in the parched Ma'rya landscape. To survive, Abremorta ceased movement, entering a hibernation that has endured for millennia. Currently, she subsists on the natural life cycle of fish and plants within her waters, taking only what is necessary for her continued existence. When a significant presence enters Abremorta's domain, it is considered an exceptional treat and may well be attacked, drowned, and absorbed.
