Kirograne, known to many as Kesserine, was an unparalleled master of deception. Her power was so formidable that she could deceive any sentient being into perceiving her as something other than she truly was. Her abilities to manipulate and mislead were such that she could subdue her innate chaos and alter her allegiance for a period, only eventually reverting to the chaos that enveloped her essence after the passage of centuries.
Early in the Dawn Era, she masqueraded as an angel born of the Well of Afterlife. This renowned well at the entrance of what would become the Nawenglorûs system is believed to be the birthplace of the first angels. She could only enter the Well of Afterlife after devising an intricate scheme to alter her alignment, have herself killed, and then, as a lawful good spirit, be drawn to the Well to be reborn as either a lawful good archon or angel. Her innate power was so immense that she successfully transformed into an angel.
Kirograne, now the esteemed Archangel Kesserine, traveled to serve Benevolence. She shielded him from the primordials and their subordinates while he harnessed the primal forces of Chaos to create worlds.
Over the course of four centuries, the chaos within her gradually strengthened, though even the mightiest of gods remained oblivious to it. Benevolence fell in love with her, and together they created nine godlings. These sons and daughters exhibited vastly different alignments, prompting Benevolence to record detailed descriptions of their temperaments in one of the rune monoliths of Suldaan Mithil, mirroring the tenets of the nine alignments. Benevolence questioned how his children could be so diverse, and the idea that he may have been tainted by chaos was planted in his mind by Kesserine. She convinced him that his close proximity to the energies of Chaos was having adverse effects. This caused him to reconsider his course of action, leading him to slow down his creative works, often drawing criticism from other creator gods like Bruh Kreniik and Danzar-Khâl. The most enduring legacy, however, was the creation of nine children with differing alignments, with the evil ones being the first to depart the family, frequently having to be driven away due to their sinister schemes and deeds.
| Benevolence was one of the Creationists. He was a Tier 2 Creationist which gave him the power to create worlds. The Creationists created worlds by siphoning energy from Chaos. A process that attracted the jealousy and wrath of the primordials, resulting in the Creation War. |
In 1510 DE, Kesserine could no longer contain the turmoil within her. This compelled her to shift back to her true alignment and form - that of a hagunemnon. The transformation occurred before her husband's very eyes. Benevolence was utterly bewildered by the sight, affording the primordial Kirograne the opportunity to open the gates to Chaos and initiate a great battle within the halls of Suldaan Mithil. Driven into a furious state, Benevolence conjured an army to combat the hordes spilling forth from the realm of entropy. Crushing his former wife's primordial horde took merely a day. When he encountered Kesserine, Benevolence easily overcame her defenses and impaled her on his great trident. Her dying words, now etched upon the stones of the Clouds of the Dead God, read:
The seeds have been sown, nine individuals born with a blend of lawful and chaotic lineages
Kirograne was the initial hagunemnon. She gave rise to a myriad of lesser hagunemnon during her residence in Chaos. Among the hagunemnon, she is known as Kirograne the Progenitor.
