In the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), the realm of Kriav was beset by demons, much like the other worlds of the Quara'tun System. The demon lord Jurusalax was one whose fortunes were not faring well. His demonic sorcerers exerted every effort to find a way to another world. They obtained their fortuitous opportunity with the opening of the Núlananya Rift, a bridge linking the realms of Kriav and Bal-Kriav. It became a highway of invasion, initiating a minor conflict within the Demon Spawn War, known as the Zythess Front.
The rift originated within a treant named Núlananya. Emerging from entropic soil, the warp matter contained within Núlananya eventually imploded, rending a breach in the Web of Magic and establishing a rift connecting the realms of Kriav and Bal-Kriav.
In the year 161 of the God Era, the Covenant general Silvanus closed this rift by extinguishing the life force of Núlananya.
