The Battle of the Eldritch Lords was one of countless battles
that comprised the
Creation War. Over a
three-day period in
7700 DE,
the primordial
Sarseg
and the archangel
Arcana
engaged in combat
at the head of the
Endless Wall.
Sarseg had been dispatched by the
Master of Tides
to
halt the wall's expansion. The two powerful arcanists and
their armies reached a stalemate. Arcana then challenged
Sarseg to a one-on-one duel. The leaders exchanged a furious
magical assault, but neither could breach the other's
defenses. Sarseg enveloped himself in a sphere of crackling
black energy and rolled towards his adversary. Arcana
responded in kind, encasing herself in a silver and fiery ball
of
positive energy
in an attempt to cancel Sarseg's field. However, the collision
of these opposing energy spheres resulted in a catastrophic
explosion that obliterated most of both armies. The battle's
aftermath also gave rise to hundreds of xag-ya and xeg-yi
creatures, which proceeded to attack anything in the area,
violently colliding with one another in miniature explosions
reminiscent of the clash between Sarseg and Arcana.
