Uromon was established in 364 HE by colonists hailing from Isan-Kun. Located approximately 1400 miles from the imperial capital, they were promptly granted a charter of autonomy. At that time, the journey between this distant outpost and their ancestral homeland proved remarkably arduous, lacking paved thoroughfares and traversing a lawless subterranean domain, beyond a sea often encased in ice.
The city's Turkûn are descendants of those who once lived in Khalas under the Brisingr. Most of them came here in the Second Epoch as part of the employees and family members of the Ilad clan. This Ilad clan had mining operations in the Nalbirag mountains. During the Nalbirag Gold War, Ilad's operations were forced from Nalbirag's upper mines. In 1322, they obtained the backing of Uromon's armies. They utilized their mines and countless shafts to great effect against forces backed by their second most hated enemies, the Neeth-Theen. In this war, Uromon erected the Iligunbirag, a defensive network consisting of redoubts, bastions, miles of tunnels, pit traps, and dead-falls. It starts from Uromon, going upwards and angling in the direction of Haag-Bre.
In addition to a formidable standing army, Uromon is fortified by hammer golems and other golem units. They also breed purple worms for combat and utilize siege ammunition filled with oozes, slimes, and jellies. One of their most elite formations is the Gurë legion, the 3-1633. When not deployed on contract, this legion of constructs is garrisoned in Iligunbirag, where they train and engage Gamakkhazar raiders, wandering monsters, and other threats to Uromon's commercial interests.
