Voruner is an ancient city, established early in the First Epoch by a group of Forstneblin. It is a riverside settlement, constructed amidst hills and crags, encircled by the gnarled timbers of Pixit. The Lerchadan River flows to the east of the city. This is a strategic waterway, broad and deep enough to accommodate sailing vessels navigating between the inland freshwater Galathien Sea and the saline Pearl Sea.
In 1476, Voruner endured a bombardment from the skies by Har'kish's formidable flying battle orb - the Eye of Gith. This horrific assault, financed by the Black Tide, resulted in the deaths of several hundred civilians and the destruction of a dozen structures.
In 1478, Voruner succumbed to Katrana, the lich general commanding the Black Tide and its formidable undead army of three legions under the leadership of Mauhúrz-Dúrak.
In the year 1547, compelled to retreat in the wake of the Athenian Crusade (1539 - 1551), the Black Tide withdraws from Voruner.
In 1553, Voruner renounced its independent city-state standing, and became an integral part of the Country of Malacost.
