Location Hall of Edicts
Period 1485 - 1683

Apoxlin is a formidable celestial servitor in the service of Phalgas. In the year 1485, a hell knight known as Raxcvillibus Dumu'loc received an ostensibly crucial assignment from the deity Thasmudyan. Unbeknownst to the knight, this mission constituted an elaborate trap orchestrated by the aforementioned god in collaboration with the mortal Dax Jagg. Rather than meeting his anticipated demise, Raxcvillibus discovered that his would-be assassins served the cause of righteousness. Apoxlin and her companions subdued the hell knight and transported him to Lunia.

Once there, he was escorted to the Hall of Edicts to respond to allegations of soul destruction. Additional accusations included his leadership within the Black Tide. However, these supplementary charges were deemed insufficient grounds for conviction, as they pertained to matters of the Mortal Systems rather than constituting universal transgressions like soul annihilation.

Raxcvillibus's sentencing was overseen by Danzar-Khâl and Athena. Their presence ensured that Apoxlin remained impartial and strictly adhered to the letter of the law throughout the proceedings.

Rax lost the trial. It was easily proven that his weapon, Grarg, was a Cairn Scythe, a forbidden class of weapons, and under questioning, the sentient weapon proudly admitted to devouring what it called "enemy souls". Apoxlin's sentence was read out to the charged. It took the form of a powerful curse stating that the defendant must serve nine years in the Hells and then he would return back to Bal-Kriav to serve out the next nine years, then repeating until the sentence finished. The sentence commenced in 1485 and concluded 198 years later in 1683.

The prosecution believed Rax would perish in his initial rotation to the worlds of the Hells system, but he endured, and continued to endure. He in fact emerged more formidable than when he stood in Nawenglorûs's highest court of law.

As part of his sentence, Raxcvillibus would visit the worlds of the Hells system eleven times. During this period, he served nearly 30 years under the diabolical overlord of the Hells, Asmodeus. The most challenging aspect for Raxcvillibus was that he would only remain in the Hells for nine years at a time before being yanked back to Bal-Kriav, where he would live for another nine years before the cycle repeated. Consequently, he lacked a sense of permanence for his actions and accomplishments, as he would return to find all he had built was gone or taken over by someone else. This led Raxcvillibus to adopt a mercenary mindset, offering his martial and leadership skills to those across Midrêth, and to fiends when he was away in the Hells.

Another aspect of Apoxlin's Sentence, a divine curse that bound him to oblige, was that each time he journeyed to the Hells, his arrival point would be random. At times, it took him years to reach his master from where he had been teleported. Not even the formidable might of Asmodeus could aid him, for Rax's divine curse concealed him from divination such as crystal balls. The hardships were numerous, often requiring him to carve a path through enemy territories or hide for weeks on end as he camped nearby. Even in the Hells, he presented a perilous sight - a hell knight, clad in ancient ornate armor and wielding legendary weapons, was a figure that gave pause to any who considered sudden action.

Another part was that while Rax was serving his sentence in the Hells, his sword Grarg was compelled to remain behind. The stipulations of Apoxlin's Sentence precluded the sword from accompanying Rax to the Hells.
