Ta'khar Jagg is a cambion, the offspring of a Theegan witch and the demon Dvr'jiss Jagg. He was raised in the harsh and unforgiving region of Raefknar. The mineral-rich Nagopt'nee mines, with their countless enslaved laborers, provided ample opportunity for torture and torment, fueling Ta'khar's dark mind. His dreams were haunted by the agonized screams reverberating from the walls of Yastorogg. This nightmarish place left a lasting impression on his psyche, fostering a cruel and torturous outlook on life, wherein he viewed other beings as mere instruments to be manipulated, tortured, maimed, enslaved, and ultimately destroyed.
In 1454, his father dispatched him southward to join the Cult of Worms. Prior to his departure, he assumed the name Dax as part of a strategy to distance himself from his father if the infiltration proved unsuccessful. As a member of the Cult of Worms, he was tasked with gathering intelligence on their operations. Two months after his enrollment, he was apprehended and sentenced to death. Fortunately, Katrana, a fellow Black Banner party member, intervened on his behalf, securing a reduced sentence. As a condition of this arrangement, he was required to allow Katrana to instruct him in the ways of her deity. A year later, he renounced his life of thievery and took holy orders, pledging himself to the god Thasmudyan.
He joined the Black Banner as a professional adventurer. This was to undergo a transformation as they garnered renown and affluence. Alongside other members of this organization, Dax played a pivotal role in establishing the Black Tide of Thasmudyan. He served on the First Dead Council and now serves on the Second Dead Council.
During the Black Tide War (1465 - 1486), the tyrannical Dax reigned from the ominous Rancor Summit. From this corrupted seat of power, he commanded the formidable capabilities of the Pyramid of Merioss. For a prolonged period, this ancient marvel prevented any sea vessel from approaching the Black Tide's eastern capital of Zayr.
While the Black Tide dominated Brucrumus, Dax commanded the Tharn-Mol.
During the Black Tide War, Dax and Raxcvillibus, both Dead Councilors, experienced a profound disagreement. In a collaborative effort, the deity Thasmudyan and Dax worked to eliminate Raxcvillibus. This culminated in Apoxlin's Sentence, a period spanning from 1485 to 1683, and the removal of Dax's primary internal threat from the Black Tide.
In the Artery War (1546 - 1554), Dax and the surviving commanders of the Black Tide were driven from Brucrumus. He sought refuge in Necrocrypt, taking up residence amidst the ruins of Mularûn. There, he schemes and labors to rebuild the formidable Black Tide of Thasmudyan.
On 9 Witchrite 1505, he was appointed Arch-Cabal by the deity Thasmudyan. This esteemed position designates him as a revered saint, as well as the supreme religious leader for Thasmudyan on Bal-Kriav.
Dax is also the leader of the Cult of Worms.
Dax's covert operations are undertaken by the Pharêthôn.
In the Chaos War, Dax initiated another battlefront known as the Lich Front. His Black Tide allied with others of similar disposition in the Sekbire Pact.
