Background Report
Vraga Moltus, the illustrious capital of the Farinteen Dynasty, has fallen victim to a colossal blast of positive energy. According to agents of the local Sanguine Whispers guild in Vraga Moltus, the cause of the attack was a massive rock, estimated to be approximately five miles in diameter. This celestial body cast a vast shadow over the majority of the city. It remained motionless in the sky for half an hour, until a brilliant blue-yellow glow emerged from a small rise on its surface. Moments later, the massive rock vanished, and the great city of Vraga Moltus was shaken as if by the mighty foot of Atlas crashing into its very heart.
A surge of positive energy emanated from the epicenter, incinerating all within a 500-foot radius. Beyond that, most other entities were annihilated up to a distance of 750 feet, with the exception of those sheltered in towers and other fortifications.
The Ministry of War for Vraga Moltus contends that this was a military offensive orchestrated by an unidentified adversary. The assault was meticulously executed, thoroughly annihilating the Emperor's distinguished garrison. Estimates indicate a staggering toll of 2,350 soldiers killed and in excess of 3,000 individuals wounded or unaccounted for, including both soldiers and civilians.
The intelligence gathered by our operatives indicates that Braca-Hloth encountered this celestial body a year ago at their outpost on Opulent Eye. Their ground forces sustained substantial losses from an unexpected assault by a weapon known as the Hand of Gith. This covert attack was succeeded by a squadron of githyanki Ravaon that descended from the heavens. All communication with the giff base has since been severed.
The Githyanki are believed to be securing outposts on Opulent Eye, potentially signaling an imminent large-scale operation.
The captured githyanki was interrogated and graciously provided us with this information before his mind succumbed to the effects of a potent psionic assault. Our Psi Corps concluded that this display of mental prowess could have originated only from an individual of the caliber of the Lich-Goddess Gith or Emperor Blac'drugulois.

Some of this information is evidently untrue, embellished, or fabricated. Unfortunately, we possess no additional data to assist you. This mission is of the gravest consequence. A failure to eliminate the Hand of Gith expeditiously will precipitate the destruction of further military objectives. Assault Squads are being dispatched to every prominent city within the Lands of Purity. If you encounter the Eye of Gith, instruct Zaos to telepathically link the commander of the Stellar Shark. He will then arrive promptly via the Astral Sea and retrieve you.
Your squad must then journey to the surface of the asteroid and locate the position of the Hand of Gith. Avoid drawing attention as you land, for the githyanki maintain a substantial garrison on the surface, as the unfortunate githyanki reported. You will be rewarded one million gold pieces upon the successful completion of this mission.
