Tetchgud, a Gimrune, was born and raised during the era of the Torgilm Confederacy (1475 - 1719). When Ba'lith triumphed over them in the Brothers Enmity War (1697 - 1723), Tetchugd elected to become a Ba'lith citizen. He pursued the study of arcane lore at Belras Foroderch. One of his most renowned relatives is a fourth-generation uncle named Hetak.

He is employed in the banking sector. He doubts that the captain's investigative team delved that deeply into his past. If they had discovered that his Fourth Uncle heads the Bureau of Finance for Engineen, he may not have been permitted to join the Pillar's crew. Paradomea and the Gimrune empire of Engineen are both commercial powers. They prioritize commerce over warfare, yet welcome war-related commerce as long as they need not bear the associated costs. The leaders of these empires' top financial institutions have long maintained close ties. Little God's uncle is well-connected within the upper echelons of the Bank of Paradomea. He feels the mental connection reestablish, and on the other end, a mentalist serving Syndic Sarurkane Branda inquires, "Anything new to report?" Little God glances at the Sphere of Arcane. He knows he should inform the caller that the Pillar has retrieved its engine. He reasons he cannot conceal this fact indefinitely, but can delay, so he replies, "No updates to provide; we remain powered by an energy converter and energy-crusher." The mental link then terminates.

In the Cinazan Front, Tetchgud served as the Chief Arcane Engineer aboard the Pillar of Horns
