Torfillifus, a product of Tiamat's Clutch, was hatched and raised by Drog'paagol, the 17th Dragon Headmaster of Vith Alok. The two were close friends, often fiercely competitive, for five centuries. However, after a feud erupted over the spoils of their adventuring, Torfillifus departed from the one who had been like a father to him, soaring off to eastern Grashakh where he established a lair beneath the Branchard Hills.
In the Year 1801, exploratory mining of ancient Toomrur excavations at Branchard resulted in the disturbance of its current proprietor. The Crimson Eye, holders of mining rights to the hills and desiring to lay claim to a mine referred to as Diamond Pit, were compelled to confront the incumbent owner through negotiation or force. The Crimson Eye dispatched troops, driving the dragon from a domain it had occupied for the preceding three centuries.
Torfillifus became a dracolich after encountering Bilesiss, one of the more self-serving scoundrels of Crimson Eye; also a secret dragon cultist serving the Vith Alok. As part of the agreement to become a dracolich, Drog'paagol commanded his old friend to commence disruptive operations against the Orchish Empire. Exceptionally cunning, and now reconciled with his old friend, Torfillifus executed these orders with remarkable success.
Late in 1802, Torfillifus ventured eastward, joining forces with a Toomrur known as Bluefang. Together, these charismatic leaders, assisted by Graz'zt's shamans and disgruntled Ogre Lords, succeeded in uniting the Toomrur tribes under the Toomrur Hegemony.
