Map Athoreon

Ginnoth is a picturesque bay situated along the northern coastlines of Izagunbar. The area is dotted with charming villages, bustling towns, guiding lighthouses, vigilant watchtowers, and sturdy coastal fortresses. The region's most prominent settlement is the esteemed city of Selûn, home to the renowned Ivory Asylum.

Ginnoth's waters are known for their treacherous naval conditions, with strong currents and submerged obstacles. This hazardous environment has necessitated the construction of an uncommonly large number of lighthouses in the region. The underwater threats include expansive shoals, near-surface rocks, coral reefs, and the formidable Caltrops of Ginnoth - fortified defenses built to deter naval incursions.

The lighthouses are illuminated to guide vessels into the secure waterways of Ginnoth, but when danger looms, they are all extinguished, and the Ora Tubruš commences relocating them into defensive formations. Only the naval forces possess knowledge of the safe passages for any specific hour.

The Caltrops of Ginnoth are among our nation's most formidable defensive measures. They have resulted in the demise of thousands across the ages - primarily during wartime, yet also in periods of tranquility.

Admiral Olanor, from the Naval History of Ivory Asylum - "Caltrops of Ginnoth"

During the Horgon Era, following the fall of Abâthigûr, the Hydrocur settled in the bay and on the isle of Tadâph. The Hydrocur conducted raids on the mainland to procure food and slaves, many of whom were subjected to experiments on the island. Their objective was to engineer a subservient, combat-capable race to confront the Sussgurd inhabiting Karnegmoth. One such creation was an elephant-like humanoid, which became known as the Elderaunts. However, the Hydrocur were unable to maintain full control over the Elderaunts. Eventually, as the Elderaunt population grew, they rebelled against their Hydrocur masters, driving them out to deeper waters and claiming the coastal mainland territories.
