Krent Talaav, translated from Draconic as Broken Hoof, was named as such due to the battles between the armies of the gods and a demon army that took place in this valley during the Hoof Front. The region is dotted with the ruins of nearly two dozen great fortresses and many smaller ones, most dating back to the time when the armies of Orcus attempted to hold the valley against a combined assault by an army under Bahamut and several under Asmodeus. After Orcus's forces were pushed further east, Dispater constructed a line of defenses known as Viiz Bo Rei. These fortifications were later abandoned and fell into disrepair following the Demon Spawn War, with the ruins of the Viiz Bo Rei line now located on the valley's eastern edge, where it meets the Viiz Bo river. When the Kriistvrii of Zeymah'kein rose to power, they bypassed the demon ruins in the valley's interior and set about rebuilding parts of the Viiz Bo Rei line. Today, the valley is lightly patrolled by Ag Envok, with most of their forces stationed within the Viiz Bo Rei fortifications.
One aspect that remains from the time when Orcus's forces wreaked havoc is the valley's substantial leucrotta population. War records from that era indicate these creatures were deployed in packs of dozens, frequently utilized to sow discord and pandemonium behind enemy ranks.
