The expansive Sareon Swamp lies to the east of Maar'tolaak and north of Korbortun.

From 742 to 1120, Sareon was governed by a primordial naga named Rilthang. Her initial minions were three rival Graagvrii tribes, followed by two Troll clans and their witch-hag leaders. Under Rilthang's guidance, these hags formed a powerful convey to delve into her ancient tomes of Primordial lore. Within these texts, they uncovered a ritual to enhance the intellect and combat prowess of the subject. One of these experiments succeeded in creating the realm's inaugural War Troll.

When the war troll population grew to several dozen, Rilthang marshaled them and her other minions for war. They launched raids across the territories of their neighbors in all directions. Rilthang's two primary adversaries were the dwarves of Anarukthalan and the dragon Mathongrarg. In the Year 1120, an adventuring party known as the Fists of Atlas ventured into the marsh and slew Rilthang. Unfortunately, the legends claim they were too weary from the battle and burdened with plunder to escape Sareon.

The swamp remains a perilous domain to traverse even now. The trolls there are cunning, utilizing poisoned arrows and hurling methane pods as tactics. The Graagvrii employ comparable methods, but also ambush from the labyrinth of canals cutting through the wetlands. Additionally, numerous potent hags inhabit the area. They convene annually to enact rituals, striving to summon another formidable primordial naga to Sareon. Many of the war trolls serving in the Tormoran Federation hail from Sareon.
