The towering structure of Voruth stands off the shores of the region of Cinazan, being the tallest on the desert island of Sjorunn. During the Second Epoch, the island was subjected to a seepage of magical energy from the Ice Cap, which snaked its way towards the coastlines and drained the life energy from the land, transforming it into a desert. The Voruth Anharr Project resulted in the construction of Voruth and its companion tower, Anharr, to attract and divert these invisible magical tendrils back to their source, the mighty Cube of Arcane.
Voruth, like the island on which it sits, is no place for the living. The life-draining energy that permeates the area is not as potent as it once was, yet sufficient to induce sickness and a slow demise, unless the individual possesses regenerative capabilities. Consequently, the location is safeguarded by golems, magical entities, and a dozen or more war trolls. The war trolls serve the Khazarkar Empire, while the constructs and magical creatures operate under the direction of Belras Foroderch. Both groups strive to maintain the site's functionality and deter intruders.
The tower itself is a colossal structure, akin to all the towers comprising the Foroderch Cordon. Voruth stands at a towering height of 400 feet, with an impressive square base of 800 feet. The majority of the construction for Voruth and the other towers forming the Foroderch Cordon was undertaken by the skilled Jolmgar cyclops. Belras Foroderch wizards further contributed by imbuing the structures with magical properties for protection, reinforcement, and manipulation of the Cube's tendrils.
