Darmaer Riwthor Harknori Reach

Yrngreirn is a profoundly deep lake situated in a cooler region of Borngring's highly geothermal landscape. Its shoreline is littered with geysers, a haven for steam mephits, water weirds, and water elementals. While often regarded as pranksters, robbers, and troublemakers, the steam mephits are not entirely malevolent. Along the northern shore lie the Great Bathhouses of Yrngreirn, which the steam mephits have operated since the God Era.

The area is often blanketed in thick fog, visibility limited to mere feet or less. The surface of the lake is frequently obscured by an algal coating, its hue discolored by the presence of minerals and toxins. This algae holds a particular allure for the aboleth. During the Horgon Era, the Hofthorm Monarchy (145 HE - 101) controlled this domain, selling buckets of the algae to eager buyers destined for the sunken fortress of Halanneg. To this day, the ancient and unfathomable aboleth of this place continue to harvest Yrngreirn's algae, which they refer to as Yrngreirns Serum – the sole means of preventing their own sterility.

On the eastern shore of the lake, towards the city of Harknori, lie fishing villages predominantly inhabited by fire giants, orcs, and expatriates of the Corralum and Minâth races from the Khazarkar Empire. The majority of these villagers are citizens of the Gangvori Syndicate.

Yrngreirn ventures into the depths of Riwthor, a subterranean sector within the Faeglor Region. In this location, taps into the lake's lowest reaches serve as faucets for drinking water, which is collected and sold by the aboleth lords of Halanneg. The majority of this lake water is destined for the parched caverns surrounding Moltaria.
