The Ackairon is a collective name for the Aarakocra tribes inhabiting the valley of Moredhel. They had dwelled in this valley since the God Era, when, after the conclusion of the Demon Spawn War, they were no longer required by the Quaratun Covenant.

Over the subsequent two epochs, the Lith-Crillion Era and the God Era, Moredhel's aarakocra tended to favor their avian facets over their humanoid counterparts. This inclination led mated pairs to claim expansive territories and maintain them akin to their animal brethren. This conduct, or what some may deem a cultural regression, constrained their population growth.

In the First Epoch, they were compelled to unite. They presented a cohesive front against the refugees created by the Great Minotaur Revolt (785 - 796). Having attained their liberty from the First Khazarkar Empire, the minotaurs sought unclaimed lands to the east, surmising that central Moredhel was ripe for the taking, as it lacked any settlements. This humanoid incursion was not an unfamiliar occurrence. The Ackairon were already contending with Gatiranda encroachment from the south. The minotaur crisis would result in additional mouths to feed, so the Ackairon determined that these mouths should be theirs, and thus they encouraged, forcefully when necessary, the minotaurs to continue westward.

In 1696, forces led by the Ba'lith Emperor Raxcvillibus conquered them in what some call the Ackairon Subjugation. Until this time, they had resisted all efforts against them. There was never a concerted push to remove them, as most feared Moredhel's proximity to the Broken Lands. Raxcvillibus seized this territory to recruit them as soldiers. Initially, they resisted, but when their fledglings were taken and sent to military academies, they joined the empire as reluctant citizens. The young aarakocras were taken to Ba'lith military crèches, where a decade of military training transformed them into soldiers. For many, this martial life is all they have known. After nine years of service, they are free to return to Moredhel, though most remain with Ba'lith's air force, serving as swift scouts or in the light flying infantry.
