The Ethâr are an elder tribe of the Izagunbar region. Their domain extends from the white dunes of Gypsum to the Knaevan river. Their practices, structures, and attire have been somewhat shaped by their closeness to the Rilirthad Empire. The Ethâr are considered a "land loving" tribe, in contrast to the coastal and island-dwelling Elderaunt tribes which are viewed as "water loving".
The Ethâr and Rilirthad have engaged in recurrent warfare for centuries. In the early period, the Ethâr frequently endured harsh defeats in these battles. The balance of power shifted as Ivory Asylum expanded in strength and provided greater assistance to their western tribes. During the Ivory Dao War, Rilirthad was compelled to cede Skarn and Lamprophyre, which were then placed under the command of the legendary leader Alluvium Peg.
Ethâr's cultural and ancestral heritage were molded by Alluvium Peg's indomitable warrior spirit and captivating charisma. He established a rigorous training regimen and officer corps, transforming Ethâr into the primary recruiting ground for the Nindarik.
Ošal Nirullu, elderaunt biographer, excerpt from the work - "Story of Alluvium Peg"
In the year 1438, the esteemed Alluvium Peg filed a petition with the Ivory Asylum for recognition as a state. Ethâr was subsequently admitted as a state of the confederation on the 19th of War March, coinciding with the birth date of Alluvium Peg.
In lieu of horses, the Ethâr cavalry utilizes dune reapers. These formidable creatures, indigenous to the Gypsum Dunes, have proven invaluable in the conflicts with Rilirthad, prompting the erection of bronze statues honoring them in Lamprophyre and Skarn. These statues line the polychrome marble streets like vigilant sentinels, or stand poised atop towers, overlooking the land.
Ethâr upholds a vigilant guard and significant troop concentration along their western borders. They are cognizant that Rilirthad is merely recuperating from their defeat in the Ivory Dao War.
Beneath the cities of the Ethâr lie fortified, subterranean complexes. These subterranean realms are engineering marvels, boasting numerous redundant defensive networks. They serve as impenetrable bastions, safeguarding against the Mining Brotherhood and other adversarial Underdark factions.
Lamprophyre is the tribe's state capital.
