The conflict originated from Rilirthad's scheme to regulate the region's adamantine prices. Rilirthad targeted the Vale of Gul, the sole source of adamantine in the area. Encroachment into Gul sparked clashes with the region's long-standing fey populace, as well as the city-state of Agibandal and other entities seeking to push Rilirthad back from their borders.
In 1427, the easternmost hold of Rilirthad was besieged by Alluvium Peg. A brilliant Elderaunt strategist of Ivory Asylum, his army besieged the mud flats of Skarn on Dirt Barges. In 1430, ten Sôldanguk units from the Braca-Hloth stormed the city's western wall. It is said the extraordinary use of anti-Elemental magic during the Siege of Skarn had not been witnessed since the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE).
The city of Agibandal capitulated to the Dao general Mudrake in 1429. This marked the commencement of the protracted urban and subterranean battles that would persist until the war's conclusion.
In the year 1436, Rilirthad negotiated a peaceful settlement. Their two occupied cities and surrounding regions were ceded to Ivory Asylum, which would eventually become the domains of the newly established Ethâr state.
