The Ivory Ward Campaign was the first major conflict of the Black Tide War (1465 - 1486). In one of the most daring maneuvers of the war, Admiral Bloodtusk risked the entire fleet in the siege of Salandirik, a city owned by MidrĂȘth's foremost naval power.

In the ensuing conflict, Bloodtusk had three key advantages. First, the Horn Tusk Conflict (1023 - 1467) had Ivory Asylum preoccupied with monitoring its rival, the navy of the Ba'lith Empire. Additionally, the Buccaneer's hyenas, a notorious band of pirates, posed a threat. Consequently, in 1465, Salandirik was left vulnerable to a northern assault.

The second part of Bloodtusk's strategy incorporated a Maleraunt guerrilla contingent, a populace long subjected to mistreatment owing to their notoriously ruthless and sinister character, and eager to redress historical grievances against their Ivory Asylum colonial masters.

The final accolade in the undead admiral's distinguished career was a death fleet capable of concealing itself within a squall or thickening mist. On 1 Brightstar 1465, by the time the warning was raised, Bloodtusk's Armada of the Damned was carving through the defending fleet. Adept at close-quarters combat, the death ships overwhelmed their targets from all sides - a wave of recently raised sailors followed by seasoned, battle-hardened undead, and finally the Masters themselves.

The coasts and isles swarmed with pirates who had joined the hunt, rendering relief efforts exceedingly difficult. Ivory Asylum, beset on the flanks by pirates and Ba'lith, had to allow its colonies to hold out as long as possible. Civil unrest, guerrilla forces cutting off relief, polluted water supplies, and famine ultimately brought the siege of Salandirik to an end in the waning hours of 1465. The sacking of Salandirik was so severe that it took a decade to rebuild and required substantial outside funding. The Paradomea Syndicate, ever attuned to such opportunities, emerged as a major supplier in the city's reconstruction.

On 19 Witchrite 1467, the colonial city of Ivory Ward succumbed to Admiral Bloodtusk and his Bloodtusk Regime.
