When the Volgads were expelled from Borngring during the Lava Flood War, the victors sought to establish contact with the commercial ally of their defeated adversaries - the drow city-state of Phaerssysn. This city had long been a friend and trading partner of the Volgads, and shared their prosperity. Phaerssysn was well-versed in the tactics of the Volgad conquerors - forcibly imposing trade, then citing perceived grievances as a pretext for war, a policy already employed against the Volgads.
Phaerssysn greeted the invaders, uncultured ruffians, with animosity. The confrontation between them came to be designated the Hallabor War. It was titled for the region Hallabor where the majority of the combat took place. A clandestine war, substantial portions of the conflict's fighting were executed using Hofthorm's Mîmêk soldiers.
The Hallabor War concluded within the confines of Geledh, where the dreaded Clockwork Chambers left isolated groups crushed by closing chambers and assailed by a myriad of monsters and Phaerssysn forces well-versed in the true layout and sheer scale of Geledh. Kelksorli commanded a withdrawal from Badmaer and abandoned the ruins of Imrik as a demilitarized zone.
