Founded on 29 Saunas 369 HE by Mezrack settlers from Azaraglad, Mîmig-Khâla was originally envisioned as a vertical sanctuary amidst the Mithivî mountains. Over centuries, it evolved from a remote mining outpost into a technological marvel, grafting industrial Mezrack ingenuity onto ancient Lith-Crillion foundations.

The Arcana's Stakes and Canal Defenses

The city occupies a high plateau guarded by four solitary spires known as Arcana's Stakes. These spires are more than religious sites; they are the anchors of a massive magical ward—originally linked by the Stone Wardens to prevent volcanic destruction—and the source of the city's intricate waterway system. Streams cascading from these spires are channeled into deep wells and a network of ten major canals. These deep waterways serve a dual purpose: providing life-sustaining water and acting as a primary defense against Stone Giant raiders, who possess an innate fear of deep water.

Architecture of a "Stolen" Bastion

Mîmig-Khâla is a stunning architectural hybrid of Mezrack steel and Lith-Crillion ruins. Its most awe-inspiring feature is the two-tiered wall system, averaging 150 feet in height. These walls are magically fortified with the same protective enchantments used on the World Splitter, rendering the city physically unbreachable from the outside.

However, this "wonder" is now a gilded cage. While no enemy has ever breached the walls, the city was lost from within. In 1826, Rioch Tetrax agents—arcane-master yakfolk—infiltrated the leadership and sparked a bloody civil war. The city’s unbreachable defenses now serve the Yazak autocracy, protecting the tyrant Besorth while keeping a population of over 20,000 in various states of servitude.

The Deep Ruins and Colonial Legacy

Beyond the walls, the mountains are pockmarked with centuries of mining tunnels and abandoned Lith-Crillion chambers. It was in these depths that the city’s greatest treasures were found: the Âni-Nâthil submersibles. These ancient vessels allowed the city to establish distant colonies like Agibandal and Ilbaragûn, though these holds eventually drifted into independence as the home city fell into darkness.

Today, the "pitiful" remnants of the free Mezrack and their allies—the ALO —wage a desperate guerrilla war from these same honeycombed tunnels, fighting to reclaim a bastion of wonder that has become a monument to Yazak cruelty.
