Taklumlode was founded in the Horgon Era by Mîmêk and Derro, descendants of a people who had endured three generations of slavery. During the Galir-Khizad Uprising ( 461 HE - 464 HE ) , a massive Vîlnên slave revolt pitted Mîmêk and Derro against their Svirfneblin masters. This conflict tore the empire into two parts, with the rebels seizing the eastern holds and the Svirfneblin retaining control of the west. Two decades later, Galir-Khizad became the capital of the newly formed Taklumlode empire.
From the surface, Taklumlode's possessions are readily accessible through several ancient lava tubes. By the First Epoch, some of these had transformed into well-maintained and guarded commercial thoroughfares between Ba'lith and Taklumlode.
The conflict that sparked their subjugation to Vîlnên was primarily due to their heretical beliefs and schemes. The Inquisitors of Geb, with the king's ear, provoked the empire into confrontation with Taklumlode's Church of Asmodeus. They aimed to halt the raids, then enslave rather than massacre their adversaries, and subsequently indoctrinate them into the worship of non-evil deities.
Regardless of the time required, we shall transform these impoverished individuals. They will relinquish their knowledge of the malevolent rulers and cultivate a path towards moral improvement.
Danargûm, the Svirfneblin High Inquisitor of Galir-Khizad, outlines "Conversion Plan 1A"
When Coeus was slain (in 1695 ) by Raxcvillibus, the bellicose minotaurs of the Ba'lith Empire were set on the path of religious conversion. This was part of a meticulously designed plan cultivated over decades. Theologians assert that the conversion of Ba'lith would not have been feasible without the assistance of Taklumlode and its Church of the Ninth Pillar. This church, the most prominent of the Asmodean churches on Bal-Kriav, aided Raxcvillibus in converting the people of Ba'lith to Asmodean worship.
In the Brothers Enmity War ( 1697 - 1723 ) , Taklumlode financially supported Ba'lith's military efforts against the Torgilm Confederacy.
Taklumlode zealously seeks complete dominion over Zirâg-Tharam. They have forged alliances with both surface and Underdark forces to eliminate any rivals within the region. The most formidable adversary was the Torgilm Confederacy. During the Brothers Enmity War, King Taklumlode XII allied with Ba'lith. By the war's conclusion, they had successfully dismantled the Torgilm Confederacy, divided the riches of Zirâg-Tharam, and consolidated the surrounding lands - one domain on the surface, the other beneath, each with their own masters, both beholden to the whims of Asmodeus.
