Formed during the ruinous reign of a crimson wyrm designated Apocalypse, they were malicious knights sworn to a wicked dragon. After the demise of Apocalypse, the order migrated eastward from Iglutt. Sustaining substantial casualties on this trek, they were infiltrated by new recruits, some covertly vowed to Ares. Over the ensuing century, enduring two periods of internal purification, the followers of Ares assumed control, steering it along a more honorable, lawful, and less brutal path.
During the era of the Kal-Oni (1016 - 1266), the order's adherents were primarily Tragaran in origin. Following the fragmentation of Kal-Oni into autonomous city-states, the Apocalypse Corps began accepting any who could meet the order's stringent requirements.
In 1279, the Apocalypse Corps joined an alliance of orders designated as the Orders of War. With the establishment of the Council of Bile in 1282, the Apocalypse Corps, as a member of the Orders of War, acquired a seat at the table.
In the Rerkvorg Pacification Campaign (1323 - 1410), the order achieved widespread acclaim, securing dominion over the Vale of Rerkvorg.
The order maintains a squadron of azure-hued dragons, all procured from the draconic cult Tîra-Phâth, which serve as mounts and versatile destructive agents.
