Tarag-Khâlu is an expansive bay cutting across the Troll Bogs, bordering the Northern Hordelands and the High Wood Country. The bay has witnessed action during the Creation War, which spanned from 1486 DE to 8777 DE, as well as the Demon Spawn War. It now serves as the final resting place for countless ships and fallen soldiers.
Long a significant commercial hub, the bay and its numerous connecting waterways have attracted raiders and pirates. The establishment of Dafrlami led to an era of Eldritch Giant pirates, who preyed upon the abundant wealth flowing to and from their kin at Dafrlami and other smaller harbors.
In the First Epoch, the establishment of settlements like Nápoldë, Tallsard, and Klord revitalized the golden age of Tarag-Khâlu's piracy. The bay's pirate population and operations only intensified in the Second Epoch with the founding of Tragaran cities along the Saber Coast.
