Orondir is an expansive swamp commencing at the foothills of Ânul and extending southward to the crystalline spires of Karbel. The Dargirth river traverses this region, its yearly flooding, the Ice Cap Melt, transforming the entire area into a shallow lake.

Orondir is home to vast hordes of Bullywug. Driven from the desertification of Nalêth during the Horgon Era, they have remained a persistent menace for the peoples of Melvad. The glyph-stones found at Herfarel indicate that the Bullywug fought for centuries against the Graagvrii of southern Orondir. In the final third of the Horgon Era, the Bullywug rose to supremacy, turning their attention to the riches of Herfarel.

In the early stages of the Second Epoch, the Khazarkar Empire advanced westward across the Cinazan region, slaughtering the bullywug by the thousands. In 1202, the Orondir Treaty was forged between the bullywug tribes and the Khazarkar Empire. The Orondir tribes were to serve as a defensive bulwark against the hostiles of Izen'nâth and the giants of Ânul.
