The fourteenth skirmish at Regadnîn was one of the countless battles that composed the millennia-long Creation War. This engagement transpired on a realm then designated Sphere 411, a world more widely recognized today as Bal-Kriav, named for the champion who perished in this clash.
The Regadnîn region had witnessed fourteen battles. The primordials persistently assailed this area, exploiting a vulnerability in the Weave. Such weaknesses, when capitalized upon, led to the emergence of Rifts. Akin to previous engagements, the primordials employed null mines, forging bridges between their Sea of Entropy and the war-ravaged wastes of Regadnîn.
The minions of Chaos assaulted Regadnîn on numerous occasions, permanently scarring the structure of The Weave. It lies beyond the aid and safeguarding of its caretakers, yet we can provide assistance from this plane.
Cas Zarugad, of the Portal Sentinels, from his work Lore of Rifts - "The Regadnîn Sore"
This battle is best remembered for a conflict that occurred on Irrai's ramparts. The Covenant's Supreme Commander engaged in a direct confrontation with a mighty primordial named Nakh-Zennîm. This Covenant adversary was faced by Supreme Commander Bal-Kriav, who, out of either foolhardiness or a desire to inspire his troops with a heroic display, confronted the spider-like monstrosity alone. Their clash brought a pause to the fighting around them. No single Covenant hero could match Nakh-Zennîm. The death of Bal-Kriav had the desired effect, as the inspired primordials were driven back to Regadnîn, retreating hastily to their invasion rifts.
A month following this engagement, the Golden Seven effectively petitioned the Nawirrûs Cartography Board, securing the naming of Sphere 411 to commemorate their fallen commander.
