The Trelshum Syndicate is a government-sponsored business of Goth-Dyvermoir. The corporation is a conglomerate, possessing interests in minerals, textiles, covert operations, mercenary forces, and virtually any other undertaking that generates revenue.
The Trelshum Syndicate is widely believed to be the true driving force behind the Goth-Dyvermoir Empire. They possess influential agents throughout the various branches of government, including some of the uppermost echelons of the Vinjof Sillodis.
Clandestine Operations Against Engineen
In 1697, the Trelshum Syndicate orchestrated a covert operation against Engineen. The mission proved successful, with the company's agents escaping Angvild with a pair of Void Lurkers and several of Engineen's top engineers. This event set the Goth-Dyvermoir on the path to mastering void travel. Four years later, the Goth-Dyvermoir had become a menace to realm space, preying extensively on the trade routes of the Deep Six. Following punitive raids by the Deep Six and the economic blockade of the Zharr Rikkaz war, the Goth-Dyvermoir agreed to cease their state-sponsored piracy against the Deep Six.
Banned From The Mercantile Exchange
The Trelshum Syndicate has carried out other activities not leading to war, yet equally damaging. In 1783, they crippled the economies of Isumbras and Bueratum. The Trelshum Syndicate ignited the tobacco harvest of these two empires when they unleashed dozens of magmin in the lands of Pipe Home. Trelshum agents dropped their package of magmin into a volcano, where they spilled forth with the mission of incinerating the tobacco barns and fields. The conflagration that ensued disrupted the tobacco market, driving prices up. The Trelshum Syndicate profited from this economic assault through the numerous tobacco futures they had purchased on the Mercantile Exchange. These futures were spread across many companies, both foreign and national, making it arduous for investigators to trace the economic attack. Several years after this incident, the Mercantile Exchange found sufficient evidence to ban the perpetrators of this economic attack. The Mercantile Exchange prohibited any company working for or acting on behalf of the Trelshum Syndicate from holding a position in the market.
