The Gol'hakh represent an advancement upon the fire archons. They are the product of Colonel Zabire, an earth archon determined to elevate his kind beyond their role as mere cannon fodder for their primordial masters.
In 2660 DE, the Covenant took the fight to the primordials. The Covenant General Takarrûs led an army against the great primordial stronghold of Saelmgar. Constructed by those serving Coeus, Saelmgar was a series of expansive complexes dispersed across the mountains. It functioned as an armaments factory in the war to repel Creation. When Takarrûs perished during the Siege of Saelmgar, a portion of the battlefield was torn away. Known today as Mughakh-Gol, it was transported through a rift to the distant world of Bal-Kriav. Twenty thousand primordial minions, supply depots, forge works, and equipment and materials to supply an army of a million were carried along with Mughakh-Gol. The Gol'hakh, chaos archons of fire, were among the entities transported to Bal-Kriav.
In the God Era, from the depths of Mughakh-Gol, the Gol'hakh sided with the demons, battling the Quara'tun Covenant throughout the Demon Spawn War ( 89 GE - 269 GE ) .
In the Lith-Crillion Era, the Gol'hakh served the demons of Varelay. After this empire's collapse, numerous Gol'hakh returned to Mughakh-Gol. In 1465, when the Asvard Fjoll conquered Goth-Dyvermoir, the Gol'hakh became integrated into the empire's populace.
