Black Wood was born in the Kingdom of Ithengee. He faithfully served his people for countless generations. In 1222, he assisted the Arch-Mages of Merioss in reclaiming two formidable magical artifacts known as Blizzard and Firestorm.
In the year 1250, he assumed the prestigious role of Nature Protectorate for the western regions of Cinazan as well as portions of the Tribe Steppes.
When it was discovered that he was colluding with agents of the Orchish Empire, he became an exiled Ithengee. Subsequently, he descended deeper into the realm of malevolence, adopting a twisted perspective on the natural world, adding the ways of the Blighter to already formidable druidic magic.
When it was discovered that he was studying under the Decay Conclave, he was branded an eco-terrorist, resulting in the forfeiture of his role as Nature Protectorate.
Becoming increasingly twisted and depraved with the passage of time, he proceeded to pervert nature, corrupting the land with Dark Nature Energy. Adversary of those adhering to The Balance, Black Wood has evaded numerous efforts to end his existence.
On 4 Bloom 1791, Black Wood planted the Seed of Tarfilerquar in the Maegorion Forest. Upon this act, a pernicious energy emanating from the remnants of a deceased deity began to propagate, whereupon Black Wood underwent Transcendence, transforming into a corrupted iteration of a Treant.
Black Wood occasionally rides a black unicorn named Rosecrusher.
