The Ithendelt Schism (905 - 912) resulted in the fragmentation of the Ithendelt Monarchy. A dispute over the succession culminated in House Ithengee emerging victorious. The defeated faction, comprising House Glorfindel and its allies, were deemed too perilous to be retained as subjects and were subsequently banished from the empire. These exiles settled along the eastern shores of the Core Sea, where they established the Gilraen Oligarchy.
The nation's Kriavfahliil, descendants of those who hailed from the world of Kriav, are depicted as a tranquil and erudite populace. They devote their time to composing poetry, singing, painting, and pursuing knowledge. Additionally, they serve as warriors, with the citizenry obligated to join the military for a duration contingent upon the soldier's anticipated lifespan.
One of the country's principal exports is honey. It derives from the seemingly countless beehives of Aranel Vardamir. Harvesting this resource is not without peril, for the Jara also utilize it in the production of restorative salves. They are additionally renowned for two exceptional wines, Melora's Tear and Thralion.
Ithengee's aerial forces comprise asperii and colossal bumblebees. The asperii are piloted by an elite cadre of elves known as the Elerossë Linwëlin. The gigantic bees serve as the aerial steeds for Forstneblin auxiliaries.
In the Khazarkar expansion to the Core Sea, the Gilraen Oligarchy was compelled to become a Khazarkar vassal state (1421). Since that time, Ithengee has had to contend with the Khazarkar Empire's aggression and its theocracy advancing the tenets of Set.
Even though of common heritage, Ithengee's Kriavfahliil do not view with approval those born into the Gilraen Oligarchy, regarding them as excessively humanized.
The majority of the empire's halflings trace their ancestry to Rabaranda and the now-defunct Nermanis Syndicate (712 - 923). When Rabaranda was overrun by the gnomes of the Quellestir Forest, halfling refugees migrated northward to Ithengee. The city's Forstneblin, who generally do not coexist harmoniously with the halflings, are descendants of those who departed the wilds of Quellestir to seek employment in Ithengee's grand cities.
In the Year 1829, Ithengee was assaulted by the Neeth-Theen. In the initial strike on a city along the Cinazan Front, the once prosperous city of Hareldocáno was reduced to a Chaos Ruin.
Architecture
The Ithengee construct breathtaking, sculpted buildings. They artfully blend the shale, granite, marble, and other stones of their domain into magnificent architecture. The result is so awe-inspiring to outsiders, and especially visiting dwarves, as to elicit tears of wonder from benevolent beings.
The cities of Ithengee each possess a distinctive architectural style. One city is designed to amplify the effects of sound, while another capitalizes on the illumination of the twin stars that shine above. In contrast, another city boasts an abundance of murals, mosaics, statues, and artistic installations.
