Drog'paagol was born in the Aerie of Dragons, during the zenith of Zeymah'kein dominance. He frequented various dragon cults, yet was often expelled due to his excessive aggression towards fellow cult members. Drog'paagol spent considerable time in the company of Vith Alok.

In the year 1101, Drog'paagol hatched an egg from Tiamat's Clutch, which had been named long ago by the dragon cultists of Whitefang.

We contemplated the notion of incubating one of the eggs for nearly three decades, with most apprehensive about bringing forth anything from the Gral Wahliik lineage. At the time, there were vague legends of the final wyrm hatched from Tiamat's Clutch. Most claimed that Cennuth, a blue, was entirely autonomous, merciless, and craved only pillage and devastation.

Of the remaining eggs in our possession, I have already named one. Through the application of my own unique magical abilities, I have discerned this particular egg to be of the shadow variety, and shall henceforth refer to it as Torfillifus.

Haal Iiz, excerpt from his book on dragon-blood families - "The Crimson Lineage of Gral Wahliik"

In 1298, he acquired Phaze Keep. Lacking the necessary funds to uncover its mysteries and fearing those who might covet it, he negotiated an agreement with the Orchish Empire. They would finance the construction of the research outpost of Nir-Madyin, which he would then defend, sharing his discoveries and assisting in their clandestine research.

In the year 1322, accompanied by nine dragons, including the shadow dragon Torfillifus, Drog'paagol seized control of the Vith Alok. His primary objective was to gain access to the cult's sealed vaults, which contained potent dragon magic and Zeymah'kein rituals.

In the early stages of the Third Epoch, Drog'paagol, having repeatedly defied the Orchish Empire, prompted the deployment of an army into Hellstorm Pass. Tasked with eliminating Drog'paagol, the soldiers met a grim fate, becoming undead sentries for Nir-Madyin. Monty the Mad is credited with mending the relations between the lich, who desired no master, and the Ageless Emperor of the Orchish Empire. The agreement stipulated that Drog'paagol would retain his labyrinth, but must come to the aid of Fort Hellstorm when it faces serious threat.

Drog'paagol coexisted with the Orchish Empire in relative tranquility for well over four centuries, assisting Fort Hellstorm's garrison against onslaughts and providing intelligence to the Overwatch. However, in 1822, Drog'paagol's bellicosity ultimately concluded his acceptance within the Orchish Empire. He was commanded to depart his crypt after the Battle of Fort Hellstorm.

When Drog'paagol dwelled at Nir-Madyin, he commanded a formidable army of undead, dracoliches, fiends, and golems. All of his undead forces had been empowered by necromantic spells, rendering them highly resistant to priestly turning and influence. Compelled to abandon Fort Hellstorm, he led this army westward into the Tribe Steppes.

In the year 1832, Drog'paagol eliminated Emperor Blac'drugulois during the Siege of Surkiln (see the Grashak Front).

Drog'paagol does not hail from Bal-Kriav. Some claim he was exiled from the realm of Toril by divine forces. Drog'paagol is a dragon invoker, granting him the ability to cast all spells typically restricted to dragons, including contact archetype, cold curtain, venomdust, and numerous others.
