Akann'ndâb was founded by Llebres trappers. When the Hive Swarms ravaged Llebres and other holds around Klak-tak, it became a refugee camp and then a permanent settlement. By the Horgon Era, the city's primarily Khazarkar population controlled an expanse from Alêth to Gwaelergoth and east to the coastlines.

In the First Epoch, facing escalating conflict with the Tragaran peoples of the Hedrac Valley and those encroaching from the Imrabêl, nationalism grew in prominence. It was a period when powerful and affluent families, occupying critical positions in government and industry, united to form a new ruling class of families, the city-state's inaugural monarchy. The Belkazims, from the Kingdom of Belkazim, governed from this city until the capital was relocated to Athânâlo.

When Akann'ndâb became part of the First Khazarkar Empire, it was the heart of religious worship. By the start of the Second Epoch, the Church of Kebechet was the city's predominant religion. During the Domination Wars (995 - 1016), the Church of Kebechet, seeking allies, forged an alliance with the Church of Set. Aiming to usurp the Eldritch Conclave in 1002, they were ultimately defeated. From the evergreens of Alêth, they witnessed their city consumed by flames, overrun by the Conclave's magical creatures.

Akann'ndâb was once a magnificent place, employing skilled artisans from diverse races to beautify the landscape. The central plateau, with its sprawling streets, meandered gracefully down terraced slopes. Magically drawn water from the plateau's summit cascaded through canals, into tranquil ponds, and over captivating waterfalls, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The city's streets were remarkably wide, facilitating the effortless movement of the renowned Elephantan Guard to any part of the urban center. Regrettably, the water has now ceased to flow, and weeds have overtaken the streets and canals. The once-vibrant city lies in ruins, with no structure spared the ravages of war. Yet, the Eldritch Conclave guardians still reside within these crumbling remnants. Amidst the debris, no fewer than fifty grave dirt golems lurk, guarding the remnants of this once-resplendent place.
