Ara'rya is an esteemed and venerable monastery constructed during the Demon Spawn War. Similar to other such hallowed sites scattered across the verdant groves of Kuli-Cir, it was renowned for training Covenant monks, mentalists, and martial practitioners.

In 1545 HE, Githzerai refugees of the Incarsabec Rebellion (1531 HE - 1544 HE), found their way to the world Bal-Kriav. Guided by their deity Ptah, they headed for Kuli-Cir, re-occupying eight ancient monasteries. Ara'rya was one such place. The githzerai cleared the ruin of forest and beast, making it their new home. As their population expanded, they spread to the other highland monastery ruins. Each of these sites functioned independently, with thousands of githzerai living a monastic existence, engaging with others only when necessary.

In the year 1329, Athena's Lanterns, a pious order of knights and clerics from Holy Sanctum, assailed a witches' coven entrenched within a long-neglected ruin. As the crusaders began to batter the ancient monastery walls, the Theegan witches summoned a demon, gambling that it would aid them in vanquishing the holy inquisitors who showed no mercy to those consorting with fiendish entities. However, the demon, Dvr'jiss Jagg, did not remain to assist the witches. Ara'rya was sacked, and the witches were apprehended and consumed by sacred flames.
