Aša Okil is a relic from the Creation War. It was constructed along the southern shores of a bay then known as Nôchulûn. Like the other fortified strongholds of the Covenant in the region, Aša Okil went on to serve as a bulwark against the encroaching Primordial forces spilling out of the Radullu Rift. It was a port citadel that facilitated commerce and the transport of military supplies across the bay. The aforementioned rift would eventually fill the harbor with silt, transforming the bay into an inland sea (see Bog Sea).
The southward flow of matter and liquid originates from a world vastly remote from our own. This distant realm is so far removed that Chaos's guardians constructed a rift to expedite their invasion strategy. In time, the inaugural angelic covenant discovered this rift. They subsequently executed an operation on the distant world, culminating in the flooding of the rift's aperture on Throndar.
Even now, millennia after those occurrences, water and sediment from that distant realm perpetually flow into our own.
The water table's equilibrium is maintained through mechanisms established by Silvanus. To this end, the deity constructed a hidden return rift within the Troll Bogs, concealed by divine magic and warded to erase any memory of its existence from all but the divine.
Boglin, regional report at a Glade Summit - "Radullu Creep"
The rift and its Radullu Creep transformed former Covenant ports like Aša Abrai, Aša Ukhan, and Aša Okil into partially submerged, flooded fortresses. Of the three, only Aša Okil maintained a thriving civilization. The people who remained here after the Angelic Departure (270 GE - 274 GE) are the Šoraikelêz, a sect of Graagvrii who kept their society intact, shunning outsiders, believing they were carrying out the will of the angels and gods they once served in the Creation War and the Demon Spawn War.
Aša Okil has experienced intervals of fanaticism during which they conducted crusades against the surrounding territories. The prevailing belief was that the neighboring populace was impure - tainted by the lingering effects of Chaos from the Creation War or the abyssal energy remaining from the Demon Spawn War. The Church of Giracian has orchestrated all of these purification crusades.
These days, the nation of Aša Okil maintains a tranquil state. They have opened their ports to the Norderns; however, history has demonstrated that an Aša Okil Crusade can swiftly transpire and yield catastrophic repercussions for the surrounding populace.
