Eáránë Aldaríon is a profound crater that cascades into the obscure realms of Menortamon. The region within and surrounding this half-mile-wide crater boasts fertile volcanic soil that gives rise to abundant flora and fauna. Numerous vines of the Tendrils spill into the crater, intertwined with briar hedges and countless traps.
Long before the Angrods had control of the Pyramid of Nature, Eáránë Aldaríon served as a sally point for Drow hunting parties coming out of the lands of the Eldalweril. The drow waged a continuous war on the Angrods and kept them on a constant defensive. By the end of the First Epoch, the drow outnumbered the Angrods by nearly 10:1. In 1284, the Angrods discovered the Pyramid of Nature, granting them insight into ancient Lith-Crillion knowledge and relics. Over the following two decades, the Angrods steadily gained in might, pushing back the drow and ultimately defeating the Eldalweril in the High Down War (1285 - 1304).
Eáránë Aldaríon spirals downward for four miles. It is covered in a tapestry of vine and vegetation as far as the rays of Merioss and Khâls Forge extend, then transitioning to mushroom, fungi, and other Underdark plant-life as it descends deeper into the bowels of Menortamon. A sizeable stream meanders down the descent, not in a winding path but rather cutting downward into the floor at two separate points, reappearing hundreds of feet later as a cascading waterfall before continuing on as a growing waterway. Along the way, it is joined by additional streams, culminating in a roaring river at the base of Eáránë Aldaríon that has carved a deep canyon flattening out as it flows northeast. During the High Down War, the Tendrils snaked all the way down Eáránë Aldaríon and as far as the walls of Hyassalmo.
