Radîn-Zukthol is a volatile wasteland situated in the eastern region of Onvorn. It is an active volcanic area bordering the Great Tradeway. Radîn-Zukthol came into existence when Armorn was sealed by the Ankh of Phalgas. During the Second Epoch, heroes of the Golden Elite utilized this Ankh to purge the Sylvan Kingdoms and end the devastation caused by the two artifact-created volcanoes of Ginzarak. When the volcanoes were sealed, some of the lava diverted from Gûn could no longer feed into Armorn, causing it to spill into this vast Underdark area.
Radîn-Zukthol serves as the dwelling place for salamanders and other fiery entities remaining from the era when Katrana governed the lands above. These creatures frequently pillage Maharâg and occasionally scale the ancient lava conduits and chimneys ascending to the surface. Upon reaching the surface, they launch raids across the surrounding territories, engaging in acts of pyromania.
This bleak region of the Underdark is blanketed in andesite, lava stone, and a wellspring of fire opals. Some of the most substantial examples of these precious gemstones have been extracted from this locale.
