In 1482 DE, the Nithian race was created in the image of their creator, a Tier 2 Creationist named Benevolence. When he bestowed them with life, he also placed them under a protective enchantment. This was done to safeguard them from the primordials seeking to destroy all that the gods were crafting. He encased his creations, numbering several hundred, in a powerful temporal stasis, which was to endure until the late Lith-Crillion Era. Secreted away in fortified mountain vaults, shielded by potent sorcery, they remained concealed, lost for just over 10,000 years.
In the year 2510 LE, the Nithians emerged from their prolonged slumber. They departed the Vaults of Ayaraigas, settling in the verdant lowlands of Borngring. The Nithians, largely oblivious to their surroundings and lacking the skills to thrive in a land rife with magic and peril, did not go it alone. They were guided and mentored by the Lith-Crillion, operating out of a research outpost concealed within the blue-white glaciers of Ice Cap. For nearly four centuries, the Nithians were sheltered and taught everything necessary to survive and prosper.
The Nithians would have risen to even greater heights had our Creator not succumbed to grief over our ten-millennium-long abandonment in the Vaults of Ayaraigas. Despite awareness of our role as subjects in their experiments, we remain grateful to the Lith-Crillion.
Seer Tûn, of the Loremasters of Ermikel - "Nithian Resurgence"
In 2560 LE, the Nithians constructed their most renowned settlement, a place known as Imrik. From Imrik emerged the Volgad Kingdom, which then faced a great war with the fire giants of southern Borngring. The fire giants drove the Volgads from their lands and northward into Cinyossion. Within this vast forest, they rebuilt their empire. The giant threat arose once more from the north with the ascent of the Gadstill Dynasty. To avoid being caught between the stone titans of the north and the fire giants of Hofthorm, the Nithians decided to migrate far to the north. The wizards of Volgad evacuated the people to Magrâbik, where they were free of giants for a time. In this new land, they established a mighty empire led by wizard-governors, known as Tamlêrran.
Nithians can primarily be found across the region of Magrâbik. Generations of proximity to the artifacts known as the Pumice Throne and the Glacial Throne have imbued Nithians with a minor resistance to fire and ice. The largest population of Nithians outside of Magrâbik resides in the Underdark city of Phaerssysn, where they came to live among the drow during a lengthy period of amicable relations between Imrik and Phaerssysn.
Nithians possess a pallid complexion. As they advance in years, their skin becomes increasingly translucent. The vivid purple blood coursing through their veins becomes discernible, a rather unsettling sight to outsiders, yet viewed with fascination by fellow Nithians. They boast slender physiques, with males averaging 5'8" and females 5'5" in height. The males weigh between 140lbs to 180lbs, while the females range from 40-60lbs less. Nithians exhibit hair colors of black, white, or yellow; combinations of black and yellow hair are atypical. The Nithian lifespan extends to 150 years.
