The Toomrur people, of Ogre stock, originated as a group of malcontents under the leadership of a shaman named Kur'toom. Thirty years later, in 215 HE, the Toomrur were a mercenary force based out of the Sleeping Chimneys, helping to settle tribal problems through threat, plunder, and conquest. Over the following century, the Toomrur continued to be employed, eventually consolidating the leadership of the region's ogres under Kur'toom. During the reign of Talothand (212 HE - 780 HE), the Toomrur were a significant force in maintaining security and expanding the borders of Talothand. Feared and renowned, when Talothand fell to the Zeymah'kein, the Toomrur were granted the same terms as their former masters, and the area around Sken Drog remained their territory.

In the Third Burn ( 1504 HE - 1522 HE ) , the Zeymah'kein were engaged in conflict with Mir'piamauza. Recognizing the inevitable downfall of their current employers, the Toomrur betrayed the Zeymah'kein. This proved to be a grave miscalculation. The Dragon Lord Sos'rahgol, employing merciless tactics, forced the Toomrur to migrate. They split into two main groups, with one moving west into Lirgaza, and the larger contingent heading north across the Sands of Hell into Thingrorn.

The Toomrur of eastern Grashakh and southern Miradelgûn predominantly form the Toomrur Hegemony.
