This battle unfolded in the skies during the Cinazan Front. The Pillar of Horns, commanded by Raxcvillibus, encountered a formidable magical cloud that pursued and overtook their vessel. Emerging from the cloud's dense obscurity, a product of the artifact Weathermaker, Griddrir's navy launched an assault on the Pillar of Horns. The limited visibility transformed the engagement into a boarding battle, with the majority of the fighting taking place on the Pillar's main deck.
Negral of the Pillar of Horns designated this mystical ability the Weathermaker's Embrace. He likewise designated this confrontation after that cloud formation.
The Weathermaker's Embrace blanketed the sky-island Gurnskolf with its vast expanse. The cloud, created by the Weathermaker, was long and serpentine, designed to track its quarry. The cloud engulfed the Pillar, allowing the ships under Otroki's wife Fridi to approach undetected. Once alongside the Pillar, they commenced boarding, including goblin paratroopers leaping towards their unseen target and giants rappelling down harpoon lines to the main deck. The dense cloud caused many paratroopers to collide with the Pillar or miss it entirely. The Pillar's cannons had no clear shots in the thick mist, and the trained crew held their fire until they had a visible target. The battle was joined on the main deck, as cloud giants, storm giants, and goblins clashed. The cloud was equally thick on the enemy ship, leading to small skirmishes across the deck, with combatants stumbling through the fog in search of foes. Most of Otroki's crew considered the attack unwise, but the leaders, convinced by Eldritch Conclave wizards, believed it to be the first step in restoring Aslauthroa.
