Bathor is an independent city-state nestled within the undulating hills of Mynzuth. Established in 910 by the Nermanis Syndicate, it served as their most prosperous southern trading outpost. The descendants of these Nermaneans comprise the predominant segment of the city's populace.

Paradomea City serves as a significant trade partner for Bathor. The Bathorians furnish 30% of the wheat essential for sustaining the extensive population of Paradomea City.

At the outset of the Black Tide War (1465 - 1486), over 20,000 Nermaneans inhabited the city, with twice as many residing in the subterranean burrows and surrounding rural areas.

In the year 1466, the city of Bathor fell victim to the invasive armies of the Black Tide. Fortunately, half the city's population was able to secure safe passage with the aid of Paradomea. Tragically, the remaining residents were lost to the ravages of war - some missing, others killed, transformed into undead, or forced into slavery. While most Bathorians choose not to acknowledge it, one of the Black Tide's most deadly units was the Knuckle-Bone Slingers, a battalion of skilled undead Nermaneans adept in the use of the sling.

Bathor had been governed by the Black Tide for four decades. During the Artery War (1546 - 1554), Bathor was liberated and restored as an autonomous city-state.

Bathor has stringent limitations regarding the suitability of housing. Determined to uphold their societal and familial values, and avoid the fate of the melting pot that is Paradomea City, at least 65% of the housing must be constructed to accommodate smaller individuals - the stature of halflings.

Bathor is the foremost exporter of olives. They are additionally renowned for their exceptional wines. Encircling the city, like ramparts, are hundreds of flourishing vineyards. Bathorean Wine is esteemed as among the finest vintages within the realm. The city occupies a strategic juncture of three principal thoroughfares. Consequently, a multitude of travelers and caravans traverse through and around the urban center.

Long renowned for its business acumen and cunning, Bathor attracts many seeking to study banking and other commercial disciplines. The city's most prominent place of worship is the Hall of Coin, an ostentatious temple consecrated to Mammon.
