Type noble houses

Some Minâth belong to prestigious noble houses. These houses are collectively referred to as the Minâth-Nôrî and account for approximately 15% of the Minâth population. This elite segment of society, the nobility or ruling class, originated during the reign of the Kingdom of Belkazim (250 - 275).

A Minâth family becomes part of the Minâth-Nôrî when it marries into the ruling family. There are no cultural norms or Khazarkar laws mandating that noble families must wed another noble family. A family is typically married into due to its wealth and power. A few families have joined the Minâth-Nôrî through unscrupulous means, such as a marriage under duress. Some houses of the Minâth-Nôrî have reigned as Leaders of the First Khazarkar Empire (346 - 1027). This ended with the Second Khazarkar Empire and the establishment of the theocratic government Pharzîmrâth.

The noble houses of the Minâth-Nôrî possess substantial power and influence within the empire. The Minâth constitute the highest caste of Khazarkar society, regarding themselves as possessing a loftier lineage and superiority over the Terrant and Corralum castes. Although they no longer rule as they once did, the noble houses of Minâth-Nôrî continue to wield considerable power and influence within the government. The expansive size of the royal houses affords them a formidable political voice in the empire. Additionally, a smaller secret faction known as the Malbazân aims to reinstate rule by the Minâth-Nôrî, garnering substantial support in the western regions of Cinazan.

There have been eighty-seven noble houses. Presently, only thirty-two remain. Rivalries between the noble houses have led to the liquidation of some. This is often done to such an extent that no one of the bloodline is left alive, or they disappear and never again use their family name. Other houses have been removed from the Minâth-Nôrî, becoming exiled. This is usually a result of their support for extreme causes. An example is the Aminulêth house, which supported the Eldritch Conclave and was exiled during the 998 - 1017 Great Exodus.

Some of the more venerable noble houses are guarded by Minâth Protectors. These protectors are Auhtai raised from birth to be absolutely devoted to their house and to serve as personal guardians of the household's most prominent members. They are also indoctrinated to be loyal to the government of the khazarkars and to refrain from actions that could potentially harm it. One of the most renowned and longstanding Minâth Protectors is Crick. This hero served alongside Black Banner and continues to carry out his role as guardian of Lenassu Dras'ee.
