Bralda-Balc was founded towards the end of the Cal-Thaoun Dynasty's reign. Bralda-Balc was a sizable organization engaged in espionage, assassinations, extortion, manipulation, sowing discord, dragon mastery, and other clandestine activities.
In the Domination Wars (995 - 1016), it has been rumored that Bralda-Balc acted as spies for the First Khazarkar Empire. During the Great Exodus (998 - 1017), they followed Cal-Thaoun's people far north to Hells Womb. Fortunately for them, and it is said they may have played a role, the Cal-Thaoun family was lost at sea. The new rulers, the Kal-Oni, determined that they needed all the assistance they could acquire in rebuilding civilization, so the matter was never thoroughly investigated.
With the ascent of the Kal-Oni Empire (1016 - 1266), the Bralda-Balc organization amassed considerable influence. The criminal syndicate infiltrated government and business, sowing discord to profit from the suffering of others. The organization encompassed several divisions, one of which sponsored expeditions into the untamed wilderness beyond Kal-Oni's frontiers, dispatching numerous adventuring parties to unearth relics of bygone civilizations.
In 1026, a group of lore enthusiasts discovered books shedding light on the early activities of Neld-Rac and his macabre experiments in the Spire of Neld-Rac. These journals, seemingly scholarly in nature, are religious scriptures responsible for the Neld-Rac Revival, a period when the worship of Neld-Rac spread rapidly throughout the Kal-Oni heartland. Among the many factions, one was focused on profiting from the church, while another took it more seriously, abandoning their previous purpose in life to become zealous proselytizers of Neld-Rac.
In 1115, the members of the diminished cult were summoned to the Spire of Neld-Rac for their annual gathering. At this fateful meeting, the leaders of Bralda-Balc shockingly unveiled themselves as vampires. They had all become corrupted through their delving into an ancient dark art that transforms one into a Soul Eater. The vampire leaders then sealed off the Spire, slaughtering all the cult's members and converting them into vampire spawns. Now a defunct organization, the vampire leaders are infamously known as the Sil Vaarnufaaz.
