In 1453, Lasestrov attained a position as one of the nine ruling liches of Paradomea's Council of Nine. Despite his young age, Lasestrov had demonstrated remarkable scientific brilliance, though his new role as Syndic of Special Projects rendered him increasingly perilous and capricious. Within Undercity, he wields unfettered authority to perpetrate acts of terror and undertake other measures to ensure the steady flow of goods to the markets of Paradomea City and beyond.
Lasestrov has numerous adversaries, as well as compatriots. In the year 1460, he decisively defeated the city-state Thalbiruzdu and absorbed its domain as an integral part of Undercity.
One of Lasestrov's most formidable allies is the pit fiend Diagobyss; a venerable Devil that has inhabited the abyssal depths beneath Undercity for millennia.
As the director of the Mutant Progress Bureau, one of Paradomea's quasi-governmental agencies, he champions the creation of mutants and other enhanced beings to augment mining productivity. He accomplishes this by subjecting prospective candidates and slaves to deep rocks. His associations with Ryldorvir are believed to have assisted in the genesis of the initial mutants.
